Two years after the tragic tsunami in Sumatra the story is all but forgotten. As easy as it's been for the rest of us to move on with our lives, there are those individuals who have found it as easy to dedicate their lives to helping the people of Indonesia put the pieces of their lives back together. This is one such story.

Austin has been mentoring groms for years now and has positively influenced everyone who encounters him.
OverXposed: Francesco Sardella
Francesco is a bit strange, his overXposure is, without a doubt, the most enlightening one we've had so far, read his responses and the next time he asks if he can use his wizardry to put you onto canvas, just say yes.
Holly Armstrong is a hard-core young woman making waves in the women's surfing scene. At only 14 years of age she's already been seen out at places like Crayfish Factory where her dad Ian has been tutoring her.
Mossel Bay locals rip. Full Stop or rather Peanut Butter! However Johan Kriek stands out from his peers with his smooth, explosive style and exciting manuevers - see what he has to say in this overXposure.
Jono is a true soul surfer - if he's not hanging ten on a longboard then he's laying back on an old school fish, just ask anyone who's ever had the privilege to surf with him and they'll tell you exactly the same thing.
Dynamite certainly comes in small packages as Lyndon proves beyond any doubt. He's also the exceptional shaper behind "EarthSea". His positive attitude and commitment to surf culture inspires all around him.
Yet another smoking goofy-footer from Kalk Bay. Dassie is a soft-spoken young man who rips everything apart with style. He's also the king of inside barrels.
Ted is young upcoming goofy-footer from Kalk Bay making waves on the local scene with his fresh approach and commitment to pushing the limits.
If you've ever seen him surf then you'd know he rips - the photos just don't do him any justice.
Based on all the OverXposed's we've published it seems the most common advice experienced surfers give to grommets is to not give up... what advice would you give?
He rips when he is in the water there's no doubt about that...I remember him and Jo Krone always surfed against Shaun Joubert, and Shaunie could never win Johann and then when Johann kinda lost interest in surfing...he started to lose against Shaunie!
So I just think he must get his priorities straight again! It's not to late,he can still make it.***Peace
Joseph really stood out in the crowd and if anyone deserves to be on the QS then it would be him. I still follow Shaun's results quite closely and always root for him in a heat.
Strange the way different surfers choose different paths - some take surfing to the competitive extreme while others prefer to follow their heart and love of the sport and stick to freesurfing.
Johan if you ever read this - keep your head up and keep on surfing - it helps you make it through the tough times.
This is my story... I havn't lost interest or given up and my priorities are as straight as they can be. I was very lucky and got a realy cool job that payed pretty well so I've been working for the past 10 months trying to save some money and get my equipment up to date and put some money aside to travel and survive.
I worked 12 hours a day so I couldn't surf all day but I was in the water every night. alone 90% of the time.Ii finished work 2 weeks ago and had a eye operation. I could surf again since monday and I've had 3 to 4 surfs every day since. I havn't slacked or lacked or lost any interests and its got nothing to do with priorities. Its just life. No work no toys - no toys no play. (ant)
But now I'm back and more hungry than ever and thanx to our mystery man ive got something to prove. So thanx alot and shot Marschant. c u soon
