Have you ever had to sit on the beach for hours on a cold rainy winters day stuck in a car feeling like you in a sardine can? If so then like me you must be a surfer’s girlfriend!
To them it doesn’t matter how long you have to sit and wait or how dark it gets, as long as they having a good time pulling in and busting out of barrels. The only reason we’re asked to come to the beach is to take photos or film them doing the same cutback,360 or air!
I mean how many times can they watch themselves doing the same moves? And if your hand happens to get tired and you take a break and miss his best 360 air reverse of the session, it’s over for you!!!
Like my boy always says “surfing is a part of me and nothings going to change that. I don’t get up in the morning to go work, I get up to go surf after work.”
How many times do I have hear that? He sounds like a broken record. Yes us girls do understand that you surfers need time to enjoy what you do, but does that mean that everyday must be reserved for surfing?
Even if the waves are 1 foot and onshore? Although my boy does kill it in the slop: he’s a small lanky guy. It’s not that we don’t enjoy catching a golden crispy tan, but sitting there all day doing nothing, getting sunstroke is a whole other admin session!
Coming back to the same spot 3 times in 1 day because the pushing tide brings better waves than the morning’s dawnie gets a bit boring and doing the same thing every afternoon and weekend to satisfy you boys gets a bit much, but I guess that’s the life and times of a surfer’s girlfriend.
